WARNING These specifications are just my observations on running a LINUX distribution. Lush should function significantly better with much lower specifications, but only if a simplified operating system is used.

A cpu capable of at least 700 mhz, probably 1.5+ gigahertz if you're using a more modern Linux.

256 megabytes of ram
1+ gigabyte recommended

An 8 megabyte graphic card for 2d work on a smaller screen, with 3d acceleration enabled (if it's even used) I'd go for 64 mb+
For the graphic card, Linux can usually operate on any card, but for speedy 2d on a large screen, I'd suggest an Nvidia 5500 or higher, and the ATI Radeon 9000 series or higher should work.
Something that came out in the past 5 years should run well. Warning: Linux drivers for these cards may not be available, so only non-fullscreen 2d may be possible.
Tip: Nvidia generally has better Linux usability, but ATI is dramatically cheaper and on Windows at least, gives higher performance to the series-comparable NVIDIA card.

5 gigabytes minimum hard drive space with a 256 megabyte swap file (so maybe a 4.75 gigabyte system partition, with the 256mb swap file)
I recommend a 10 gigabyte hard drive minimum for larger Linux systems

A monitor capable of at least 800x600 and 16-bit color depth.
I recommend a 1280x1024, or even using two monitors if your graphic card can function with them.

Keyboard and mouse obviously.
